Behavioral and Mental Health Services at GOISD

At Gogebic-Ontonagon Intermediate School District (GOISD), we are committed to fostering the mental and emotional well-being of students across our local school districts. Our comprehensive school-based behavioral and mental health services are designed to help students feel supported, healthy, and connected to their educational community.

Our team is composed of licensed mental health therapists, school social workers, a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst, and school nurses, all working collaboratively to support students in overcoming personal challenges and achieving academic success.

Our Services Include:

• Individual and Group Counseling:  Addressing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges to help students thrive.
• Support for Personal and Family Challenges: Assisting students with issues that may impact their well-being and academic performance.
• Development of Coping Skills and Resilience: Empowering students with tools to manage stress and navigate challenges.
• Collaboration with Families and School Staff: Partnering with families, staff, and administrators to ensure students receive holistic support and referrals to external services when needed.
• Coordinated Care: Ensuring comprehensive support for students through collaboration across various services and professionals.
  Individualized Behavioral Interventions: Designing and implementing positive behavior support plans tailored to each student’s needs.
• Physical Health Support: Addressing physical health concerns (e.g., chronic illness, sleep issues) that impact mental health and overall well-being.
• Health and Wellness Education: Providing educational resources for students and staff on maintaining mental, emotional, and physical health.
